FIVE FACTS FROM THE SOURCE (Embedded):
The article explains that although stealing one song might not appear to be detrimental, "the accumulative impact of millions of songs downloaded illegally and without compensation...is devastating" (RIAA).
This article cites a study by the Institute for Policy Innovation stating that "the annual harm at $12.5 billion dollars in losses to the U.S. economy" (RIAA).
Music piracy can also result in "more than 70,000 lost jobs and $2 billion in lost wages to American workers" (RIAA).
Most people do not understand that when they steal music they are taking earnings away from "the enormous cast of industry players working behind the scenes to bring music to your ears" (RIAA).
"Songwriters, recording artists, audio engineers," are only a fraction of the cast that someone impacts when they illegally download music (RIAA).

Summary of Source (Three-Four Sentences of the Who, What, Where, Why, and How in your own words. NO OPINION):

RIAA is a trade organization that brings together the music labels that compromise the greatest record industry in the world.  RIAA aims to protect the creativity and First Amendment rights to the artists and labels they represent.  RIAA members create, manufacture, and distribute about 85% of all legitimately recorded music that is produced and sold in the U.S.

Credibility of Source:
Author or Site: Who is the author? What training have they had? If there is no author, examine the site. What is the purpose of the site? Who funds the site?
RIAA is the number one recording industry in the world.  The purpose of the site is to bring awareness of the consequences of music piracy.  The site not only follows all congressional laws, but "takes an uncompromising stand against censorship and for the First Amendment rights of all artists to create freely" (RIAA).

Attachment: Does the author or site have anything to gain from writing this, or is it simply informative? For example, is it a cigarette business posting an article about the benefit of cigarettes, or is it a scientific community unaffiliated with the cigarette business?
The site seems to promote the welfare and rights of the people it represents.

Bias: Do you detect a bias (a favoring of either side) in the author's writing?
I do not detect a bias within the RIAA website.

References: Does the author cite references in the writing? If so, do these add or take away from the credibility?
The author cites multiple references within the writing.  This actually adds to the integrity and legitimacy of the website.

Use of Source: How will you use this source in your project?
I plan to use this source to provide statistical references as well as information on the negative effects of music piracy.
